  WE'RE GREEN!
It is with great excitement that the owner, agents and staff of RE/MAX Metro & Eastside Brokers Inc announce that we have "Gone Green"!
We have analyzed all aspects of our facilities and business operations with the goal of identifying opportunities for Eco-friendly business practices. We are a growing company that is 100% committed to learning & implementing a 'Earth-friendly' business - we want to help save the planet for our future generations!
We’re Paperless
Paperless Deal Files – We process all deal files electronically. Instead of turning in a paper copy to the office, agents will simply scan their deal and forward to our administrative team. This will save paper, folders, staples, storage costs and time, as well as increasing efficiency and service to our agents by allowing us to access their deal files remotely.
Paperless Faxing – All incoming faxes during business hours are received as .pdf files by our office staff and immediately forwarded to our agents’ via email.
Paperless Billing – Agents and all vendors receive their bills via email.
Paperless Accounts Payable – To minimize the massive amount of waste associated with the bills we receive, we request e-billing statements from our vendors whenever available.
Green Electricity
1. By switching to fluorescent lighting, in all fixtures both inside and outside our building, we are saving money on electricity and doing our part to save the planet as well. See the following Seattle PI article and the incredible statistics related to the benefits of using fluorescent bulbs.
2. We have found that our fluorescent tube fixtures (which are made to fit four tubes) provide sufficient light for business purposes with 2 or 3 tubes.
Recycling
Paper, Plastic and Glass - All paper, plastic and glass products used by the office are recycled with Waste Management Company.
Electronics – Our outdated or broken electronics/Computers/Monitors are sent to our nearby recycling center.
Fluorescent Lamps – Our fluorescent bulbs & batteries are recycled.
Office Supplies – We use only certified paper with a minimum of 30% post consumer recycled content. This paper meets and exceeds all EPA recommended standards for sustainability.
Cleaning Supplies – We use biodegradable cleaning products from such companies as Method and Seventh Generation. These products are non-toxic and also free of chlorine, phosphates and petroleum-based ingredients.

Disclosure Laws >What Sellers Might Disclose
Most states require a home seller to provide the buyer with some type of disclosure form. What might the seller have to disclose?
A Residential Property Disclosure Form requires the home seller to disclose facts about the home's heating, wiring or plumbing systems, including any defects that may exist, such as leaks in the roof or cracks in the foundation. If something in your home is not working properly or needs repair, you will need to either fix it or disclose the material defect to the prospective buyer. There are other disclosure forms, unique to each local area, that require sellers to disclose negative environmental factors or local building code issues. A lead-based paint disclosure form is required for homes built prior to 1978.
State legislatures and courts all over the country have passed laws regarding concealing defects from an agent or buyer. Ask your real estate agent about your obligations as a seller regarding disclosure.
